September Creative Accents Challenge Time

Well September is here and so is the new Challenge at Creative Accents Challenges

What are you playing for?

This is what I came up with..

I just got this lovely stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps.. New in the store.. 
She is colored up with my new Distress Pens.. (loving these)  I used Linen paper that is embossed and then colored with the newest Distress Stamp Colors..  Back ground is stamped with Hero Arts friends stamp and flowers and bling added..

A Birthday Card

It was my Husband's birthday last month so I did this card up for him.. it was a quick card cause it was one of those days that he kept coming down to my craft room to tell me something or other.. (usually I am safe in there )  Oh well..

I used my TH Disstress Pens.. have to get back in there and play some more with them..

this is the second stamping of the ship off of the one coloring.. I am so pleased with these.. Here is a picture with the other two stampings..

The one on the card is on TH water color paper.. the one on the top right is the shiny paper (can't remember what it is called) and the third is again on the water color paper..  (sorry Picture is not better.)
1st one I huffed on
2nd is light fine mist at arms length
3rd is more spray closer..

You have to be careful not to over spray second and third one.. but I think they are all useable.. will have to get busy and do some cards with them..

I used the paper's that went with August SOTM.. to do this card..  as well as the bling.. used my new shapes and a little distress ink.. I love the way they don't hide the Pens colors..

Anniversary Cards had a few to Make

Well if it is not Birthday cards it's Anniversary Cards and there were a few this time round..

First off is the one I did for Janet and George Ross one of our neighbours on the Hill here..

I am tring to remember if it was their  56 or 57th Ann..

I love these Lily of the Valley pre colored images for quick cards..

Second card is for my Brother and his wife..

they have been doing a lot of gardening this past couple of years.. Lots of Cherry Trees..
I thought this image was great for them.. Also sort of used Graphicat's Sketch for it.. so will enter it over there.. Graphicat Sketchs Blog  there is a few days for you to get in on this one..

Summer Sunshine Inspiration

Still lots of time to enter in the SUMMER Challenge for August at Creative Accents Challenge Blog

Here is a card I did a while ago that I realized fitted right in with this Challenge.. Now I always thought it was hard to get a good picture of Blues.. I have since changed my mind.. Yellow with green it very hard.. This card has a lot of yellow in it.. Just stop by the store to see..

I did the coloring with my Distress Inks..

Happy Anniversary to the two of  you.. I am a little late posting this was suppose to do it last night so it would be up for today.. Any way here is the card I made for them.. Hope it got there in time..

Early Birthday Present to Myself

I know should not do that but when you want something bad enough you do what you have to do..
Last week end when at the Christmas in July crop at Creative Accents  I played with Tara's new Tim Holtz Distress Pens..

I fell in love with them.. in a post further down you will see a card with fairies that I did with them.. well this week more sets came in at CA and I got my self a set..

This week end after I worked really hard Saturday and Sunday ( and I did to) Sunday afternoon and  Monday was my time to play.. now I did spend some time on Sunday at Barb's using a couple of her stamps to try these out.. Here is what I came up with so pleased with these.. Now don't expect these to work like copic's cause they don't..but I am really looking forward to doing more with these.  Let me know what you think..

This one is the first I put together.. The Best Wishes I over sprayed so it spread a bit more than I would have liked but I went over with the pen again and gave it a bit more definition and am happier with it.. this one is stamped on water color paper and touched up with Speca Pens..

This one is done on the shiny paper recommended sorry don't remember the name of it..Nice to work with though.. You can use your distress ink pads over the image afterwards and it doesn't interfere(Nice) . This is a second stamping after doing one on water color paper.. Still came out great. (have one more that I stamped at the same time that is very useable.)

This one of the cowboy is the first stamping on water color paper.. I am very happy with this one.. (have two others that I stamped with just giving the stamp a little spray in between that are useable as well)
(Hint to do this it is a good idea to stamp the image first on just plain paper so you see clearly the area's you want to color on the stamp.. Sometimes it was hard to see.. cause of coarse I didn't do this first.)

Well please tell me what you think.. I have a bunch of stamps that I want to play with again using these..

New Challenge For August

Man July went far to fast and we are already in to August and that means it is Challenge time again.. And since we are having some lovely weather lets do something Summery and use some Yellows...

Here is what I came up with last night.. I am very pleased with it..

Forgot name of the paper but they have lots in the store right now and I am sure Julie or Tara can point you in the right direction.. One side is the flip flops and other the chevrons
the ribbon is attached to a tag that pulls out..

August Stamp of the Month

Oh my this stamp is a lot of fun.. Lovely shell border..the card above I stamped the image on the new Linen Paper

This card I embossed in silver.. Oh my it does very well.. 

I had so much fun that I did an other card and tag here they are..

Christmas in July Crop At Creative Accents

Well didn't get a hole lot done but it was really great to visit, have some laugh's, see what everyone else has been up to..
Hope the  floors have dried out a bit for them at Creative Accents, they had a roof drain back up on Friday night, when we had a good soaking rain and thundre shower go through.  What a mess Julie and Tara had to clean up, quite a bit of paper ruined with water.. 

Anyway they were great about it and we had a good time with the big fan's running in the back ground..

So here is what I got done as far a Xmas cards went..

On Saturday wanted to play with my new stamps so did this card...

It's a set of Fairy Stamps and this one is from the set called Autumn. 

This card again Fairy from the same set.. But I used the Distress Pens on the stamp.. Tara let me borrow her set to give a try.. I do believe I will have to get myself a set...

Playing on the Week End

Well took some time and played in the Craft room this week end.. finished up some cards that needed their insides done.. Put together this card I am sharing with you today and then realized this morning that I could enter it in a challenge or two..

The first Challenge I am entering her in is  Stamptacular Sunday Challenge
I haven't entered this one in awhile but I always look to see what is going on.. They have some neat ideas and challenges.. For this weeks challenge you will create a card or project that uses TWO or More Dies!I used two different spellbinder dies around the girl.

The Second Challenge is Crazy 4 Challenges  Again another that I always look at and have entered a few times..  Stitching ~ Faux or Real  is the challenge this week.. I have Faux going around the edge of the card.. It just needed something and that was it..

Also did some others but you will have to come back and see later.. Aug.. 1 or there about's..

TH July Tags

Today was the day we got together at Creative Accents In Air Condition Comfort :)  and did our Tim's July card.. Tara also did a class before hand on the many ways to use Alchol Inks.. What Inky fun we had..
 Here are the tags we did..  So sorry forgot the girls name that joined us on this.. she was fabulous in her creations.. When I get hwe name I  will put on .. Kayla is her name.. Hope she joins us again..

With all of us using the same Tech. Surprising how they all turned out..

What I did before CARDS

A few years back before I got hooked on making cards one of my pastimes was Cross Stitch.
Well we had some company a few weeks ago and I had to get a couple of rooms tidy so they had some where to sleep..(you know how your spare rooms become collection places)
In the process of the tidy up I got some of my Cross Stitch together, with the backing and frames all in one box..

So that ment I had to start seriously thinking about putting them together so they could be displayed the way I orginally wanted.. Last Sunday was the day.. to hot to work in card room upstairs I headed for the basement and some coolness..
I won't bore you with the time it took me to figure out (remember) how to mount these and frame them .. ( I should put a plug in here for my husband, he painted the frames up for me really quickly when I asked they were just plain pine and I wanted black)

First shot is of them hanging in the dinning room.. followed with not the best pic's of them but enough to show you..

The frames are 9-1/2" X 11-1/2"

July Creative Challenges

It's time again for a new challenge over at Creative Accents Challenges

If you are like me you have a few things around that fall into this area.. Now you don't have to use them all but you could Challenge yourself to try..

All of the above are the first time used..
colored with Copics of coarse.. Ribbon from my stash .. Smile from a sheet of punch out peel and stick letters.. Lacey Circle has been colored with the new Ranger Summer collection.. Lovin this set..

Now I was so pleased with this after is was all done I did another using the stamp and lacey circle just for fun..
